Halloween Village

Filter

A My Mind's Eye Halloween village is built one paper house at a time, each one heavyweight paperboard with a battery powered light tucked inside so the windows glow once the room goes dark. See a whole street of them lit up in our story, The Best Part Happens After Dark.

How to start a Halloween village

Start with one house and add to it. Bootique, Cauldron Cafe, and Madame Mystic join earlier favorites like Eastside Elixirs, Dead & Breakfast, Haberdashery, Spell Bindery, and Witch Cottage. They are built close to the same scale, so houses from different years sit side by side on the same street. Most stand between five and eight inches tall, which means a mantel, a console table, or a kitchen counter is enough room to start.

    Sizes at a glance

    How they light up

Every house has its own light inside, so nothing needs an outlet and you can put a house wherever the room wants one. Batteries are not included. The newer houses run on a timer, so they come on by themselves each evening and switch off on their own.
